Wherever you go in Israel you will find stray cats. It seems that in the 1920's there was a rat problem in Jerusalem. The decision was then made to breed cats to fight the rats. Voila. No more rats out of control, but cats proliferated and are everywhere. Actually, mostly we see young cats, live cats, we've only seen one dead cat--an Arab one.
