New Friends

Thursday evening cousin Sue’s brother Lenny arrived for a visit. It was our first opportunity to spend time with an Israeli. Lenny made aliyah in the 70’s expecting initially to pass some time in Israel and then return to the states. Instead he married here in Israel, raised two sons, and lives in the town of Nazareth Illit. On Saturday we are going to tour his part of the Western Galilee town of Nazareth.
On Friday morning we welcomed another guest. Our daughter Roxanne’s teacher friend, Abby, moved to Jerusalem in July of 2008. She’s joining us for a few days of vacation and travel. What a pleasure to have her with us, to continue our learning about life in Israel and her perceptions as a young person, a religious woman, and as a teacher.
