I searched through the dozens of photos we took during our emotional trip to Yad Vasham to find one which best captured this museum and memorial to the fallen 6 million Jews who died during the holocaust. I chose this sculpture, from Holocaust to Rebirth, because the museum doesn't stop with the death and destruction, but continues to archive stories of survivors in Israel, their contributions, their art, the nation they helped to build. We must not think that this terrible period in our history is only about being victims, it is also about survival and rebirth and faith and remaining against all odds, the People of the Book.
