The Kibbutz honors the fallen who have fought for Israel with this small memorial in their cemetery. I found headstones marking the gravesites of Kibbutz members 100 years old at their death, and 24 years old at death. The wall you see here in the background is part of the original wall used to defend this outpost Kibbutz, only a few miles from the border. There is a strong new fence that surrounds the living area of the kibbutz as well as the hotel and factory. The fields remain a vital part of the Kibbutz and are in the open, exposed to the elements and to any enemies. At this time there is peace with their neighbors Jordan and Syria.
